Pros
Picture quality is nothing short of spectacular with incredible detail. Jagged edges (“jaggies”) created by some movie content are effectively eliminated by the film-mode operation. When viewing DVDs and standard-definition content, contrast was found to be very good, with noticeable depth and dimension given to images on screen. The on-screen menu is very user-friendly and easy to navigate.
Cons
The scope of the viewing angle is severely limited, causing degradation in picture color, brightness, or contrast as you move away from the center of the screen. Black levels were a bit bright in the darker scenes with a reddish tint to them. Quality of contrast suffers a bit when viewing HD programming.
Summary
Overall, this 52” 1080p from LG performs great, with excellent sound as well as superior picture quality, provided that the viewer is not viewing the screen from a hard angle. It is best suited for viewing DVDs and standard-definition programming.

Rundown
Pros
Excellent picture quality when viewing HD programming, as well as great quality when viewing DVDs and standard-fare programming. This set competes with the best in terms of display and image detail, and the color is very realistic. Black levels are good, and the viewing angle is well above average, allowing you to view the set from anywhere in the room without a reduction in picture quality. Does a great job of smoothing out jagged edges, or “jaggies”, that often occur when watching movies or other types of content that were originally recorded on film.
Cons
Image contrast is slightly weaker when viewing DVDs and standard content when compared to HD. Black levels can be a bit too bright during dark scenes.
Summary
The 1080p LCD TV from LG is quality product boasting a 52” display which can be viewed clearly from virtually anywhere in the room. It’s a bit wider than most LCDs, making it an excellent choice for rooms that cater to larger audiences.
